Alloy Personal Training Overland Park is a small group personal training studio at 5053 W 119th St in Overland Park, Kansas. Certified coaches lead 50-minute strength, mobility, and balance sessions capped at six people. Programs are built for adults 40 and older, and every workout is adjusted to the individual, whatever your starting point.
Yes. Our programming is designed around how bodies change after 40, including muscle loss, joint stiffness, and changes in balance. Adults of any age are welcome, and every session is scaled to your ability, whether you're building a strength base or training to stay active and independent.
No. Many of our members hadn't exercised in years, and some had never lifted a weight. Your coach starts where you are and progresses you at a pace your body can handle. If big gyms have felt intimidating, a group of six with a coach watching every rep is a very different experience.
In most cases, yes. Our certified trainers modify exercises around injuries, medical conditions, and physical limitations, and every new member starts with a movement assessment. Our coaches are fitness professionals, not medical providers, so we don't diagnose or treat conditions. If you're managing a condition or recovering from surgery, get clearance from your doctor or physical therapist first. We'll build your program around their guidance.
Yes. We regularly adapt strength training for members managing arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, as well as joint replacements, low bone density, and back issues, with clearance from their healthcare provider. That might mean different equipment, a shorter range of motion, or a substitute movement that works the same muscles. Our guide to training with rheumatoid arthritis covers our approach in more detail.
Balance and mobility work are built into every Alloy program alongside strength. Stronger legs and hips, better ankle mobility, and regular balance practice help members move with more confidence and stability in daily life, from climbing stairs to getting up off the floor.
Small group personal training combines the individual coaching of a personal trainer with the energy of a group. At Alloy, sessions are capped at six people per coach. Everyone trains together, but each person follows a program and uses weights suited to them. You get more coaching than a fitness class and more community than training alone.
At a big gym you're usually on your own, and in a large class one instructor can't watch everyone's form. At Alloy, a certified coach leads no more than six people, knows each member's history and limitations, and adjusts weights and exercises in real time. You never have to guess what to do next.
Sessions run 60 minutes. We recommend two to three sessions a week for the best results, and we are able to accommodate different schedules and goals.
The Starting Point Session is a complimentary, no-obligation first visit. You'll meet our head coach, talk through your goals and any physical concerns, and complete a strength and mobility assessment and an InBody body composition scan. You'll also complete a short, sample workout so you can experience a session for yourself. It is a great way to gain some valuable insight about what fitness plan will meet your needs and see if we are a fit for you.
An InBody scan is a quick, non-invasive body composition test that estimates muscle mass, body fat, and body water. For adults over 40, tracking muscle is often more useful than tracking weight on a scale. Your first scan sets a baseline, so you and your coach can measure real progress over time.
Yes. Alloy coaches hold certifications from nationally recognized organizations including NASM, ACE, and ACSM. All training is science-backed and our focus is safe, effective strength, mobility, and balance training for adults at every stage of their health journey.
